Hello!
I am a central New Jersey-based public historian, social studies educator, and founder of Memento Mori Interpretive Consulting. Through my work, I have the privilege of partnering with local landmarks, archives, museums, and other cultural institutions to tell their stories in ways that engage diverse communities.
I earned my B.A. in History and a Certificate in Historic Preservation through Rutgers University, followed by an M.A. in Anthropology focused on archaeology and cultural anthropology from Monmouth University. I am currently pursuing a second M.A. in Cultural Heritage Management at Johns Hopkins University, where I’m deepening my knowledge of preservation and sustainability, and happily collecting a bit more archival dust along the way!
Professionally, I serve as an adjunct anthropology professor at Brookdale Community College and as a high school social studies teacher with the Union County Vocational-Technical Schools District. In both classrooms, my goal is simple: spark curiosity, sharpen critical thinking, and remind students that history belongs to everyone.
As a board member of the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum in Rahway, NJ, I am tasked with developing programs that bring local history to life, support preservation efforts, and connect the community with the stories and spaces that make our past meaningful. My volunteer experience has allowed me to hone my skills in everything from experimental archaeology to collections care, community engagement, and public programming.
My guiding principle is that our shared history is made meaningful by acknowledging the complicated individuals, fascinating social movements, and important places where these stories unfolded.
My work is guided by a belief that the past is not just something we study, it’s something we can connect with, learn from, and carry forward. I strive to position local history in both its local and broader social context through inclusive storytelling.
This passion also drives my consulting work with small to mid-sized cultural institutions. I help organizations strengthen preservation efforts, make collections more accessible, and create meaningful, community-centered connections to historic places and stories.
I look forward to helping share your history with your community, because every story matters!
